More and more cosmetic brands are releasing sunscreen products. Consumers are also becoming more aware of the beneficial effects of sunscreen creams. But did you know that SPF protection should be used not only in summer?
Daily exposure to the sun is unavoidable for most of us. Of course it is not a bad thing. For proper functioning of our body needs an adequate dose of vitamin D, whose production is triggered by the sun. The sun’s rays have a positive effect on our mood and well-being
Despite all these benefits, UV radiation also has a negative impact on our body. In addition, recent studies show that UV light is contained not only in sunlight, but also in computer screens. Working in front of a screen for several hours is therefore comparable to being exposed to the sun for several hours.
Sunbathing, while having many benefits for the skin, can also damage our skin and lead to skin diseases. We are specifically talking about the strands invisible to the naked eye, namely ultraviolet radiation UVA and UVB. Long-term exposure to the sun can cause skin cancer (e.g. melanoma), allergic reactions, erythema and cataracts. Year-round use of sunscreens can protect us from all of these problems.
Cream with SPF is an excellent anti-wrinkle preparation. Using it in daily care, we are able to postpone the appearance of wrinkles for a good few years. This also applies to women at a young age, who are unlikely to think about using anti-wrinkle creams yet. Lack of sun protection leads to early skin aging that manifests itself in roughness, loss of elasticity and distorted facial contours.
Our face, unlike our arms, legs and the rest of our body, is exposed to UV radiation daily. Even on a cloudy day we are exposed to the sun – especially in this weather the emission of ultraviolet radiation is very high. That’s why sun protection is important all year round.
When choosing a sunscreen, the amount of protection should be taken into account. It should be a min. 30 SPF. The level of protection gradually decreases during the day, so the higher the sunscreen we apply in the morning, the longer we will be protected. During the day you can of course add products with SPF, not necessarily in the form of a cream. There are mists, powders, opaque foundations on the market that are also designed to protect us from harmful rays.
