Propolis is nothing but a mixture of bee or wasp secretions and resinous substances. A tincture made with bee putty shows a whole range of beneficial properties. Read the article and find out how to prepare it!

Properties of propolis tincture

Propolis was used in medicine already by the ancient Persians and Greeks for dressing and disinfecting surgical wounds. In addition, bee putty is used in soldering to repair broken instruments, as an ingredient in car body preservatives and as an ingredient in gum for life.

Propolis tincture shows great effectiveness against infections caused by staphylococcus aureus bacteria. In addition, its antifungal properties are used in gynecological treatment. Propolis in the form of a tincture has anti-inflammatory, antiviral effects and relieves symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections.

Bee putty accelerates tissue regeneration and helps in the treatment of ulcers, varicose veins, bedsores, burns, boils, bruises and cuts. It is used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease of the stomach, duodenum, liver and large intestine. It helps in regeneration of gums and inflammation of oral cavity, periodontosis, treatment of thrush and erosions

Propolis is a medicine with antioxidant properties, thanks to which it effectively delays cell aging. It has anti-cancer properties and prevents the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases. It counteracts infections caused by E. coli bacteria.

Recipe for tincture of propolis

Tincture of bee putty is not difficult to prepare. After making the concoction, seal it tightly and set it aside for about 2-3 weeks at room temperature. Be sure to stir it daily by shaking it vigorously.

Ingredients:

  • 50 g propolis,
  • 150 ml of water,
  • 350 ml of ethyl spirit 96%.

Method of preparation:

  1. Propolis should be thoroughly cleaned and crushed.
  2. Fill a glass bottle with 50 g of propolis. Fill the vessel with water and spirit.
  3. Set the bottle aside in a shady place for 2-3 weeks. It is important that there is room temperature. Remember to shake the concoction at least once a day.
  4. After 2-3 weeks, filter the tincture through gauze and pour into dark bottles.

Tincture dosage

From 15 to 30 drops of propolis tincture should be added to boiled, lukewarm water. The drink can also be taken directly from a spoon and sipped with water, or the drops can be placed on a teaspoon of sugar. Do not give the tincture to children, as one of the ingredients is ethyl spirit.
